Rigid rules about food, all-or-nothing thinking, and harsh self-criticism can make it difficult to develop a more balanced relationship with eating and your body.

These patterns may exist alongside GLP-1 treatment, bariatric surgery, or independently of any medical weight-loss intervention.

I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (DC-LC200003064) providing online psychotherapy to adults in Washington, DC who want to better understand these experiences and develop practical ways to address them.

Moving Beyond Rigid Rules and Self-Criticism

When your relationship with food or your body is shaped by strict expectations, setbacks can feel especially difficult.

My approach draws on evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help you examine unhelpful patterns, respond more flexibly to difficult thoughts and emotions, and make choices aligned with your values.

Progress is measured by meaningful psychological and behavioral changes, not weight loss.

The Behavioral Intensive

The Behavioral Intensive offers three hours of focused psychotherapy, followed by a personalized written report, workbook materials, and two included 30-minute follow-up appointments.

The package costs $1,800. I review inquiries before scheduling to determine whether the format is appropriate for your needs.

Full details are available on the Services page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I work with you if I work in DC but live in Maryland or Virginia?

My current practice policy requires clients to reside in a jurisdiction where I am licensed and to be physically located in an authorized jurisdiction during appointments. I am not currently licensed in Maryland or Virginia.

Do I need to be taking a GLP-1 medication?

No. My services also address emotional eating, body image, self-criticism, and behavioral concerns unrelated to medication or surgery.
